Super Naturals Matrix are the highest tier of our footers. They stand under components and speakers and couple them to the floor. Resonance finds a way out instead of staying in the housing. What sets the Matrix apart from the rest of the Naturals is an additional, adapted version of the SteinMusic E-Pads, which work on the principles of quantum physics. The stage opens further, and the music gains structure and calm.

Why resonance costs sound

In every audio component resonance arises. Damping it alone also takes energy the music needs. Isolating the component traps the resonance inside. It stays in the housing and diminishes the sound. The better way gives it an exit. A path toward earth.

How the Matrix works

At the transition between component and surface, reflections occur. Super Naturals Matrix work on both sides of this transition. They drain unwanted resonance out of the component. And they reduce reflections that travel back from the surface. In this way they ground a component, stable and yet unobtrusive.

Inside, ceramic elements and felt pads work together. Ceramic carries energy away very quickly. Felt normally only damps. At SteinMusic the pads are vacuum-impregnated with a special lacquer. This stabilises them and gives the sound a firm and at the same time released character. The selected woods add a natural tone.

In the Matrix an adapted version of the SteinMusic E-Pads is added. It works on the principles of quantum physics and refines the interplay of the materials further. This layer lifts the Matrix above the rest of the Naturals and lets the music sound even more open and free.

What sets the Matrix apart

• Grounding instead of damping or isolating. Resonance is led away without taking energy from the music.
• Ceramic and lacquer-impregnated felt. Fast energy dissipation, a firm and yet released sound.
  
• E-Pad layer. The additional refinement of the Matrix, for an especially open and free presentation.
  
• Two woods, one natural tone. Two feet of African zebrawood, one of Italian olivewood.

Why not spikes or rubber

Spikes reduce energy transfer through their small contact area. Rubber feet store energy and release it with a delay. Thread and cord concepts sound pleasant but do not ground the component. The sound stays agreeable yet without structure. Super Naturals Matrix work at exactly this point.

What to expect

The stage opens in width and depth. Voices and instruments stand precisely in their place. The expression of the music stays fine and subtle. Intense, sonorous and full of colour. Against the rest of the Naturals the presentation gains once more in calm and openness.

Application

Super Naturals Matrix come in a set of three. Two feet of zebrawood (the darker ones), one of olivewood (the lighter one). The side with the gold metal ring faces up.

Usable under any component, from CD player through turntable and amplifier to the loudspeaker. Use them instead of the original feet, so the housing couples directly to the floor. If the original feet are higher, remove them.

If a component carries more weight on one side, place the olivewood foot directly under the heaviest part. Position the two zebrawood feet so that they each carry about the same. The result is not always symmetrical. This balance is decisive for the result.

Under loudspeakers, place the lighter olivewood foot at the front centre and the two zebrawood feet at the back left and right. A set of three makes reliable contact and is the recommended option. For special placements a set of four and single feet are available.

Care

Very stable under load, but sensitive to shear forces. Always set components straight down from above.
