WHO WE ARE
A family business in its second generation
At 14, Holger Stein builds his first amplifier. The question of why two technically identical devices sound different stays with him and leads him to study physics. In 1982 he founds Stein Music Pro GmbH in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
Today Holger still develops every product himself. Gabriele Stein runs the company, Sebastian Stein is responsible for sales and marketing. Together with our team, we train our own apprentices and manufacture in-house.
Our principle
Four stations between recording and ear
Each of these stations lays something over the music. We work to remove these layers. Effective on their own, attuned to one another as a whole.
Power and ground
Calm begins with power. A clean reference point gives your system a clear, silent background.
Signal
Cables and network connections that transmit without coloring. Made on our own braiding machine.
Resonance
Enclosures vibrate along with the music. Natural woods and ceramics conduct this movement away instead of damping it.
Room
The room is part of the system. Room acoustics you barely see, placed without any renovation.
History
over four decades
A question in a workshop became a system that today stands in listening rooms on several continents.

1975
Holger Stein builds his first amplifier. The question of why identical technology sounds different later leads him to study physics.
Founded in Mülheim
1982
While studying physics, he repairs and improves amplifiers and loudspeakers for fellow students, and soon for friends and acquaintances. In 1982 he turns this into a profession and founds Stein Music Pro GmbH in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
International debut
2010
At the first AXPONA in Jacksonville, Florida, our H2 Acoustic System can be heard. Since then, magazines in Europe and the US have reported on our work.

Handcrafted in Mülheim
developed and built under one roof
From the first design through the prototype to final inspection, every step stays with us. For this we have built a high degree of in-house manufacturing: our own braiding and winding machines, CNC milling and a workshop where everything comes together.
This lets us shape every step of the process ourselves and refine it until nothing stands in the way of natural sound. We also choose materials by what they make audible.
